Hi, I’m Aisha Ahroosh. Welcome to my website. I have been dancing in the Pacific Northwest since 1979. I am an award winning performer, a master teacher in my area of Southern Oregon, a choreographer and the owner and artist of Ladysilk.

As Ladysilk, I have been making and selling silk items, particularly veils, for belly dancers since 1997. The response to my art has been heartwarming and gratifying. I thank all the wonderful dancers who have purchased my veils and made beautiful dances with them. I love to see my “babies” on stage floating and swirling through the air at the fingertips of beautiful dancers.

The impetus to start Ladysilk came when I was accompanying a dancer/vender friend to various belly dance events. She encouraged me to make something to sell at these fun happenings. After trying hand made jewelry (big flop) and production sewing of cholies and vests (profitable but BORING) I found that dying silk veils was exciting, profitable and a great outlet for my creative spirit. I am also NEVER bored. Each veil is different…no two are alike (unless I want them to be). I love making beautiful silk items for dancers. My business has grown over time and with your help will continue to do so.

Although I enjoy making my standard veils I also love the challenge of custom work. Do you have a costume you just can’t find a veil for? Let me make one to coordinate with it. Want to make an all silk costume? Let me dye the yardage for it. Want a veil with a special color combination or pattern or size or shape? Let me give it a try.
