Dancing with silk veils

Dancing with silk is a bit different from dancing with other fabrics. Silk seems to have a mind of its own. It can’t be forced. It seems to be alive. Because of this “liveness” you could think of your veil as a partner rather than a prop. Treat it with love and respect and it will respond to you.

Silk has a longer “hang time” than other fabrics. It loves the air. Give it a little more time to float. Do not whip it around as though you shaking crumbs from a tablecloth – this will cause the silk to collapse upon itself obliterating the beauty it is known for. Slow down. Let it do its thing. Breathe!
